BEMIDJI -- A Duluth man accused of attempting to burglarize a Solway home in August has entered a guilty plea in Beltrami County District Court. Marcus Woundedeye, 36, of Duluth is charged with felony first-degree attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling. On Aug. 19, a woman reported someone trying to break into her home just after 1 a.m. A K-9 unit followed a blood trail leading law enforcement from the scene to Woundedeye who was found hiding in a Honda Civic. First-degree attempted burglary carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.
Sheriff's Report The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls on Thursday, Dec. 25: Warrant 4:32 a.m. An 18-year-old man was arrested on a warrant on Division Street W and Highway 2 W. Theft 8:11 a.m. A 36-year-old man was arrested after Christmas presents were reported stolen on the 500 block of Spirit Lake Road NE. 10:46 a.m. A 29-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly stealing an iPad on the 100 block of Northern Ave. NE in Blackduck.
BEMIDJI -- Three men facing drive-by shooting charges were booked into the Beltrami County Jail early Sunday morning after more than 20 property damage calls were logged with the Bemidji Police Department over the weekend. An 18-year-old and two 19-year-old males were arrested at 1:02 a.m. Sunday following a complaint of vehicle windows being shot by a BB gun on the 200 block of 14th Street Northeast.

Accident 3:09 p.m. A 34-year-old man was arrested for criminal vehicular operation after deputies responded to a crash on Pioneer Road north of Trails End Road on the 17400 block of Artesian Spring Road NE in Kelliher. BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man accused of sexually assaulting a woman after a Super Bowl party in February has amended his not guilty plea in Beltrami County District Court. David Earl Neumann, 24, is charged with felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Neumann pleaded not guilty to the charge in August; a criminal complaint was amended on Tuesday to reflect a guilty plea. Neumann was arrested Feb.
BEMIDJI -- A Cass Lake man has entered a not guilty plea to felony criminal sexual conduct in Beltrami County District Court. Lance Arnold Kingbird, 46, is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl multiple times. Kingbird pleaded not guilty Dec. 8 to first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Kingbird was arrested in October after the girl's mother reported the crime to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office. According to court documents, the most recent incident occurred in Ten Lake Township on Oct. 17.
