BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl in April 2013 has plead guilty in Beltrami County Court. Jeremy Bruce Cournoyer, 33, of Bemidji is charged with felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He amended his not guilty plea entered in October to guilty in late June after he waived his right to a jury trial and opted to have Beltrami County Judge John Melbye hear his case in a court trial.

BEMIDJI -- A Fosston man has plead guilty in Beltrami County Court to his part in an armed robbery in Bemidji in March. Riley William Burns, 18, Fosston, entered a guilty plea June 23. Burns was arrested along with Michael Todd Fineday Jr., 19, of Bemidji after the pair forced their way into a Bemidji home and demanded to know from the people living there the whereabouts of a person they believed to have money and marijuana. Both men are charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree aggravated robbery.
BEMIDJI -- A Redby man plead guilty in Beltrami County Court to charges in a Bemidji stabbing incident in May. Orland James Spears, 23, is charged with felony first-degree burglary in possession of a dangerous weapon and second degree assault. He entered a guilty plea June 20. Spears is accused of stabbing a 71-year-old man at his home when Spears asked to use his telephone.
WALKER -- Two men who robbed a Hackensack liquor store in June have plead guilty in Cass County Court. Curtis Eugene Hoffman III, 22, of Walker and Jeffrey Allen Goose, 28, of Cass Lake entered guilty pleas to felony third-degree burglary on June 26. Each faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The Cass County Sheriff's Office reported three people were arrested for burglarizing the Hackensack Municipal Off-Sale Liquor Store on June 10. Video footage of two individuals confirmed Goose and Hoffman had broken into the establishment.
BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl plead not guilty in Beltrami County Court this week. Matthew August Loos, 28, faces a felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge for an alleged incident that took place in May 2013. According to court documents, Loos had sex with an 11-year-old girl while she was sleeping. In a statement given to law enforcement, Loos denied engaging in sexual contact with the girl. If convicted, Loos could spend up to 30 years in prison and be charged a maximum $40,000 fine.
BEMIDJI -- One of three people arrested for transporting methamphetamine to Red Lake from the Twin Cities in May has plead not guilty. Joseph Jacob "Jake" Thunder III, 47, of Redby entered a not guilty plea in Beltrami County Court on June 23. He is accused of working with Alex "Sparky" Dejesus-Zuniga, 18, and Delisha Rae Rodriguez, 25, of Richfield, Minn., to bring 43 grams of meth onto the Red Lake reservation. All three face first-degree conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine charges. They were apprehended by law enforcement on U.S.
