CASS LAKE -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office has issued a notification that a level three sex offender will be moving to the Cass Lake area Oct. 1. A community notification meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in the commons area of the Cass Lake-Bena High School. James Tacumseh Littlewolf, 26, has a history of sexual contact with adolescent female victims, according to a release from the sheriff's office. He was known to his victims. Littlewolf was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a 13-year-old victim in 2007.
BEMIDJI -- A Duluth man faces a burglary charge after an attempted break-in at a Solway home last week. Marcus Woundedeye, 35, of Duluth is charged with felony first-degree attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling. First-degree attempted burglary carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $35,000 fine. According to court documents, a Solway woman was awoken by someone attempting to break into her home at about 1 a.m. Aug. 19. Beltrami County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call on Sundown Road near Solway at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Aug.
BEMIDJI -- A second opinion will be sought before a Bemidji woman accused of manslaughter in the death of a 6-year-old child can be civilly committed by the court as mentally ill. Rachel Downer, 22, was charged with second-degree manslaughter after her 6-year-old cousin, Mercedes Mayfield, died while in her care. Mayfield was found outside an apartment complex in Bemidji on Feb. 27. The cause of death was hypothermia. Downer appeared in Beltrami County Court on Wednesday afternoon for a commitment hearing.
BEMIDJI -- A woman who was part of a four person methamphetamine bust in June plead not guilty to drug sale charges Monday in Beltrami County Court. Tamara Sue Halverson, 45, of Bemidji, is charged with one count of felony first-degree sale of methamphetamine.

BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man on Monday appeared in Beltrami County Court for an assault charge after allegedly running over a woman's arm and dragging her down a driveway with his car. Jeremy Mitchell Rudnick, 26, is charged with one count of felony third-degree assault after an altercation on Aug. 19. According to court documents, Rudnick knew he had struck a female with his car before fleeing the scene. Beltrami County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of domestic assault at approximately 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 on Bemidji Road NE.
BEMIDJI -- A Redby man was convicted Monday in Beltrami County Court for conspiring to transport 43 grams of methamphetamine from the Twin Cities to the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Joseph Jacob Thunder III, 47, of Redby, was sentenced for felony second-degree drug sale to 69 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. Thunder was arrested on U.S. Highway 71 south of Bemidji on May 23. Alex "Sparky" Dejesus-Zuniga, 18, and Delisha Rae Rodriguez, 25, both of Richfield were also arrested at that time.
