Sheriff's Report The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls on Thursday: Assault 4:51 p.m. A 38-year-old man was arrested following a domestic assault complaint on the 600 block of Patriot Drive NW. Drugs 9:50 p.m. A 42-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested for fifth-degree controlled substance following a traffic stop on the 9900 block of Irvine Ave.

BEMIDJI -- Perhaps the most important part of working with youth is knowing how to save a young person's life. Youth providers learned how to do just that by exploring prevention, intervention and postvention strategies during suicide information sessions at the Sanford Center on Thursday. The sessions are part of Evergreen Youth & Family Services 2015 annual conference "Building Positive Outcomes for Youth and Families." The two-day conference, co-sponsored by the Sanford Center and Bemidji State University social work program, continues today and has more than 350 people registered.
WHITE EARTH -- A Mahnomen woman is facing felony burglary and assault charges after allegedly breaking into a man's home and stabbing him Saturday. Serena Lee Oppegard, 40, was arrested Saturday after White Earth police responded to a report of an assault on the 21300 block of Strawberry Mountain Road in Clearwater County at approximately 5:13 a.m.. According to court documents, a woman called 911 after she woke up to a female, later identified as Oppegard, standing over the bed stabbing a male victim.
BEMIDJI -- The second of two Bemidji men charged with burglary from fish houses on Lake Bemidji has plead guilty in Beltrami County District Court. Ryan Gregerson, 26, pleaded guilty to felony third-degree burglary on March 12. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Gregerson and Zachary Glime, 26, were arrested in February after the two were linked to the burglaries.
