BEMIDJI -- A Red Lake woman was apprehended Saturday by Bemidji Police in Bemidji with more than 40 grams of methamphetamine. Stormie Jasmine Graves, 23, appeared Monday in Beltrami County District Court facing a felony first-degree possession of methamphetamine charge. Graves was arrested at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday outside a residence on the 2300 block of Calihan Ave. NE.
BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man was taken into custody Friday afternoon after he attempted to avoid arrest by fleeing out the backdoor of his Grant Valley Township residence. Andrew Joseph Haman, 27, appeared Monday in Beltrami County District Court charged with felony fifth-degree possession of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms. At approximately 2:24 p.m., Beltrami County Sheriff's Office deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on the 1600 block of Pamela Court NW.

BEMIDJI -- Beltrami County Commissioners discussed two topics at Tuesday's county board meeting that have been on the agenda throughout the year -- homelessness in the area and increased capacity and functionality in the jail. People in tune with the homelessness situation in Bemidji have already heard of a possible shelter coming in the next three to five years. What's new is a potential funding source. "This past year was an unprecedented year at the state Legislature. There was $100 million allocated for affordable housing," said Rick Klun, executive director with Center City Housing.

BEMIDJI -- A Minneapolis woman who attempted to outrun the law appeared Monday in Beltrami County District Court. Delisha Rae Rodriguez, 25, was arrested south of Bemidji in May when she and two men attempted to transport 43 grams of methamphetamine from Minneapolis to the Red Lake Indian Reservation, according to court documents. Rodriguez is charged with felony first-degree drug sale, which carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine. One of her conspirators, Joseph Jacob Thunder III, 47, of Redby, was sentenced to 69 months in prison in August.
BEMIDJI -- Dwight Jones and Cory Jones made their initial appearances Monday in Beltrami County District Court since their involvement in a recent shooting incident near Cass Lake. Dwight Thomas Jones, 37, and Cory J. Walter Jones, 26, both of Cass Lake, were identified by a witness as shooting and assaulting two men from White Earth on Sept.
WALKER -- A Walker man was sentenced for his part in breaking into a Hackensack liquor store in June. Curtis Eugene Hoffman III, 22, was convicted Sept. 29 in Cass County District Court of felony third-degree burglary. Hoffman has been sentenced to 90 days local confinement in the Cass County Jail, of which 57 days is stayed for five years. Hoffman has been credited with 33 days served. A warrant was issued for Hoffman's arrest after failing to appear at a hearing Aug. 18.
