Sheriff's Report The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls on Friday: Underage consumption 3:55 a.m. A 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were cited following a minor consumption call to the 2700 block of 1st Street E. Accident 2:59 p.m. Deputies responded to a male party who had been struck by a vehicle after being involved with a domestic disturbance with the driver on the 2100 block of Roosevelt Road SE. No arrest indicated. Burglary 6:59 p.m.

BEMIDJI—A Red Lake woman arrested with more than 40 grams of methamphetamine in her possession in October has been sentenced to six years in prison. Stormie Graves, 24, was convicted of felony first-degree possession of methamphetamine in Beltrami County District Court on March 30. She was sentenced to 74 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee. Graves has been credited with 177 days time served and was ordered to pay a $50 fine. Graves was arrested Oct. 4 outside a Bemidji residence after officers responded to a 911 call.
BEMIDJI—A Bemidji man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the attempted murder of a 17-year-old Eckles Township girl in July. The girl was shot three times while standing on the deck of her home. Chad Pickering, 40, was convicted of felony first-degree premeditated attempted murder in Beltrami County District Court on March 24. Pickering was sentenced to 195 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. He was credited with 246 days time served and ordered to pay a $50 fine.
BEMIDJI—Uninhibited freestyle steps of toddlers commingled with the trained traditional footwork of elders at BSU's 42nd annual Spring Pow-Wow Saturday afternoon in Bemidji. The powwow was hosted in the John Glas Fieldhouse on the BSU campus, a venue that may change next year. The BSU Council of Indian Students sponsors the event each year. Council co-presidents Amber Dorr, a senior psychology major, and Thomas Sullivan, a senior studying political science, coordinated the event along with other council members.
