BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji woman has been convicted of felony assault after stabbing a man in October. Theressa Marie Myers, 43, was sentenced in Beltrami County District Court on Jan. 5 to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail for felony third-degree assault. She was credited with 90 days time served. Myers has been placed on five years supervised probation. Myers was arrested Oct. 21 after law enforcement responded to a report of a man who had been stabbed in his back. According to court documents, Myers said she argued with the man but denied stabbing him.

BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man has pleaded guilty to assaulting an 8-week-old baby in July. Donny Lee Carlsen, 38, pleaded not guilty to felony first-degree assault Oct. 28. Carlsen entered a guilty plea by plea agreement in Beltrami County District Court on Jan. 6. Carlsen was arrested July 8 for inflicting injuries on his 8-week-old son two days earlier. Carlsen is accused of striking the infant in the face, shaking the baby and then dropping him while attempting to answer his cellphone.

WALKER -- A Cass Lake man has been found guilty by a jury of attempted murder, assault, kidnapping and theft of a motor vehicle for his part in the stabbing and kidnapping of a man on Aug. 1. Sheldon James Armstrong III, 22, is charged with felony first-degree premeditated attempted murder, kidnapping, second-degree assault and theft of a motor vehicle. A jury found him guilty on all counts in Cass County Court on Thursday. A jury trial began last Tuesday.

WILTON -- A third person has been arrested in connection with a Wilton home invasion that occurred in December. Two people had already been taken into custody for the burglary. The investigation led law enforcement to the arrest of three additional men for the sale of marijuana.
