BEMIDJI -- A Cass Lake man facing a felony possession of a firearm charge has been convicted of misdemeanor assault and sentenced to local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail. Cory Jones, 26, pleaded guilty to and was convicted of fifth-degree assault in Beltrami County District Court on March 3. Jones was sentenced to 90 days in jail and credited with 60 days time served. He was ordered to pay a $50 fine. Jones was arrested in September when he and Dwight Jones, 38, of Cass Lake, were identified as the men who shot and assaulted two White Earth men on Sept.
BEMIDJI -- One of two men accused of burglarizing fish houses on Lake Bemidji has pleaded guilty to felony burglary and drug possession in Beltrami County District Court. Zachary Glime, 26, of Bemidji pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance on March 2.

BEMIDJI -- A Redby woman arrested in connection with burglaries in six communities pleaded guilty Monday to one of two counts against her in Beltrami County District Court. Holly Johnson, 31, was arrested in July by Red Lake Tribal Police after she and an accomplice, Brandon Howard, 35, of Redby were connected to 11 burglaries in six communities in Beltrami and Koochiching counties. Johnson was charged with one count of felony first-degree burglary and one count of felony second-degree burglary. She pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary.
WILTON -- A Bemidji woman arrested in connection with a Wilton home invasion in December pleaded not guilty to a felony burglary charge in Beltrami County District Court on Tuesday. Paige King, 18, is charged with a first-degree aiding and abetting burglary charge in possession of a dangerous weapon. King was arrested with Brett King, 21, of Bemidji ,after law enforcement responded to a home invasion call in Wilton at approximately 12:12 a.m. on Dec. 29.

BEMIDJI -- Two Bemidji men face felony level charges after responding to an online sex sting from the Bemidji Police Department. The department launched an investigation into predators seeking sex with minors in the Bemidji area in February. "These arrests are a result of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat child sex trafficking in the Bemidji area," Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin said in a release Wednesday. On Feb.
