RAPID CITY, S.D.—A 31-year-old man killed on Interstate 90 in South Dakota last Thursday night when his van hit a charter bus that was stalled in the middle of the road with no lights on has been identified. He was Cade Stensland of Larchwood, Iowa, in the far northwest corner of Iowa, who died at the scene of the crash. Stensland, who was wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 2013 Ford E-250 van. The crash occurred 20 miles east of Rapid City at 8:45 p.m. when the bus carrying 56 passengers lost all power.

The 2013 Motor Coach bus, driven by a 39-year-old woman, came to a stop in the middle of both interstate lanes with no lights were operating. The eastbound 2013 Ford E-250 van then rear-ended the bus, said the South Dakota State Patrol.

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- Law officers were still on a manhunt late Friday afternoon and asking for the public’s help in finding two people involved in an alleged kidnapping in the Twin Cities suburb of Minnetonka.. Police there said witnesses saw Jahon Douglas, 37, of Burnsville, kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Smith, 27, of Anoka, at gunpoint at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday.
MINOT, N.D.— It'll be a very merry Christmas for a Williston family who had their dog stolen four years ago. It was found—125 miles away—just days before the upcoming holiday. Minot Animal Control Officer Tanya Mendelsohn recovered the English bulldog, and a cat, on Tuesday, Dec. 19, after being called to an abandoned home in Minot that police called a "drug house." It was littered with garbage, and there was no food or water for the animals.

ST. PAUL -- Fire deaths have increased 30 percent in Minnesota so far this year to 56, and officials are worried about the historically dangerous holiday season. Last year at this time, there were 42 fire deaths. In 2015, there were 57 deaths, the highest number since 2002 when there were 64. The state’s all-time low figure was 35 in 2009 and the highest was 134 in 1976.

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has identified the person injured during an officer-involved shooting incident that happened on Tuesday afternoon at Minneapolis City Hall. Marcus Fischer, 18, of Minneapolis is being treated for his injuries at Hennepin County Medical Center. His condition was not released.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Officials started using sound cannons on Tuesday, Dec. 19, to scare off Canada geese from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport. The goal of the program is to reduce the number of geese flying in and out of open fields to the west of the airport to prevent geese from striking windshields on jets or being sucked into engines.
