LOS ANGELES - A fugitive ex-Los Angeles cop sought in three killings was barricaded in a cabin in the in the San Bernardino Mountains on Tuesday after a shootout with authorities that wounded two officers. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department says two law enforcement officers are being airlifted to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Deputies in the Big Bear area looking for Christopher Dorner responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area about 12:20 p.m., the sheriff's office said.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The man who was arrested after attempting to upstage Adele at Sunday's Grammy Awards has a new message for the singer: "help me." Vitalii Sediuk says his appearance onstage at the Grammys was a spontaneous event and that he is only now realizing that it might have legal consequences for him. The Ukrainian journalist, who did not have a ticket to the awards show, spent several hours in police custody before being released with a trespassing citation and a March 4 court date.

OAKDALE, Minn. (AP) — A 9-year-old Oakdale boy who was shot and killed while riding in a minivan has been identified by his mother. Melissa Aryal says she picked up her son, Devin, from daycare Monday evening and was heading home when she heard a noise that sounded like something under the hood. Aryal pulled up to a stop sign, and was hit in the arm by a bullet.
BELLE PLAINE, Minn. (AP) — About 100 calves were killed in a fire at a Carver County dairy farm. Belle Plaine Fire Chief Todd Otto says the fire was discovered early Tuesday as farm workers went to milk the cows. The Halquist Farms dairy operation has 400 to 500 cows. PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — John Kerr, the stage and film actor whose credits include the movie "South Pacific," the thriller "The Pit and the Pendulum" and a Tony Award-winning turn in "Tea and Sympathy," has died. He was 81. Kerr died Saturday of heart failure at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, his son Michael said.
LONDON (AP) — Royal officials in Britain have expressed disappointment that paparazzi shots of Prince William and his wife on a beach holiday in the Caribbean may be published by an Italian magazine. St. James's Palace said Tuesday that publishing the photos would be a "clear breach of the couple's right to privacy." The photos reportedly show the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge — the former Kate Middleton — wearing a bikini and strolling on a beach with William on the island of Mustique.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Humane Society of the United States and other animal welfare groups filed a lawsuit Tuesday to restore federal protections for gray wolves in the western Great Lakes region that were lifted last year.
MADRID (AP) — Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are expecting their second child. Cruz publicist Javier Giner told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the Spanish actress is pregnant. He declined to provide any further details, including when the baby is due. The 38-year-old Cruz and 43-year-old Bardem had their first child, a boy called Leo, in January 2011. The couple became romantically involved after appearing together in Woody Allen's 2008 film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and later married.
