THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. -- There will be no investigation into a Pennington County sheriff’s deputy’s claim police told him to exclude the fact that “Pokemon Go” was open on the phone of a teenage bicyclist hit and killed by a truck in Thief River Falls.
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — Incident reports shed light on a bicycle crash that killed a 14-year-old Thief River Falls boy, with police stating “Pokemon Go” was open on the teen’s phone when officers found it at the scene of the crash. The documents also include an investigating officer’s claim he was told to omit from his incident report the fact investigators found the open app in an effort to prevent the case from becoming "national news."
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. -- A Thief River Falls man accused of trying to set his son on fire now faces charges after police say he choked and hit two women before prompting an hours-long standoff this past weekend. Michael Roy Nelson, 46, appeared Monday, Oct. 18, in Pennington County District Court on a felony domestic assault by strangulation charge, two misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and fifth-degree assault.
DULUTH -- Federal charges against a Clearbrook, Minn., man accused of shooting at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter in early August, leaving a Polk County deputy with shrapnel injuries, will proceed ahead of Minnesota charges.
