RED WING, Minn. — Barking by the family dog alerted residents at 1922 Burton St. to a fire shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. All escaped without injury, Red Wing Fire Chief Shannon Draper reported. Firefighters reached the home within five minutes of the 1:56 a.m. call that an attached garage was burning. The fire started in the garage, and firefighters found the blaze extending into the house and attic space. Firefighters immediately started an aggressive interior attack, Draper said. They took about two hours to extinguish the fire.
