BISMARCK, N.D. -- BSU overcame a halftime deficit to earn a sixth consecutive victory as it defeated University of Mary 68-59 Friday in Bismarck, N.D. Senior forwards Zach Noreen and Maxie Rosenbloom led the way as the each posted a double-double in the win. Noreen scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, while Rosenbloom added ten points and ten boards.
BEMIDJI -- BSU erased a 16-point deficit to force two overtimes but lost 89-83 to University of Mary Friday. The Marauders made eight of their nine free throw attempts in the second overtime and scored 20 points to edge the Beavers. U-Mary (10-6, 8-5 NSIC) had a 32-20 lead at halftime and extended the lead to 40-24 in the first three minutes of the second half but BSU (8-9, 4-9 NSIC) cut into the lead with a big run midway through the period. A Morgan Lee jump shot with 3 minutes, 22 seconds remaining in regulation capped a 21-5 run for BSU and tied the game at 54-54.
BEMIDJI -- Bemidji wrestlers coaches and fans cheered as Wyatt Yoemanns attempted to pin Doug Peterson in the heavyweight match. The time expired just before Yoemanns could pin his opponent, resulting in a win by decision that forced a 30-30 tie between Bemidji and Badger-Greenbush-Middle River Thursday at the BHS Gym. Badger-Greenbush-Middle River ended up gaining an additional point due to a tiebreaker for most first points earned to leave with a 31-30 victory.
BEMIDJI -- The BSU women's basketball team enters a four-game road trip with a focus on maintaining a strong defense that helped earn a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference split last weekend with MSU Moorhead and Northern State. After allowing 93 points per game in a pair of losses heading into last weekend, the Beavers (8-8, 4-8 NSIC) held MSU Moorhead to 53 points in a win and kept Northern State under 70 points in a loss.

BEMIDJI — Northern State earned a ninth consecutive win as it defeated BSU’s women’s basketball team 69-55 Saturday at the BSU gym. BSU held Northern State to 45.5 percent shooting but surrendered 12 second-chance points on 14 offensive rebounds and were out-rebounded 45-24. “Northern is such a good rebounding team,” BSU head coach Mike Curfman said. “That was the difference in the game. BEMIDJI — After allowing an average of 93 points last weekend, BSU entered this week with a focus on its defense and that emphasis paid dividends as the Beavers defeated MSU Moorhead 64-53 Friday at the BSU gym.
