BEMIDJI -- For the first time in nearly a month, the BSU women's basketball team will not face a team that is ranked or receiving votes. The Beavers conclude a four-game road trip Friday and Saturday against Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls. BSU (8-10, 4-10 NSIC) has lost its last three games, including a double overtime loss at University of Mary Friday.
MINOT, N.D. -- Christina and Carly Boag combined to score 54 points for Minot State in a 94-84 win over BSU Saturday. Christina led the way with 29 points and Carly added 25 to guide Minot State to its sixth win in its last seven games. Three-pointers from Hanna Zerr and Morgan Lee highlighted an 11-0 run that helped BSU gain an 11-4 lead after just three minutes of play. A three-pointer from Christina Boag regained the lead for Minot State at 24-22 with 8:30 remaining in the first half.
MINOT, N.D. -- It took a strong finish for BSU to escape Minot with a victory, but the Beavers topped their North Dakota rivals 84-68 for their seventh consecutive victory Saturday night in their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game. The seven games is the longest winning streak for the BSU program since the 2004-05 season. BSU (14-4, 11-3 NSIC) broke a 62-62 tie open by closing the game with a 22-6 run in the final seven minutes to seal the road win.

BEMIDJI -- BSU erased a 16-point deficit to force two overtimes but lost 89-83 to University of Mary Friday. The Marauders made eight of their nine free throw attempts in the second overtime and scored 20 points to edge the Beavers. U-Mary (10-6, 8-5 NSIC) had a 32-20 lead at halftime and extended the lead to 40-24 in the first three minutes of the second half but BSU (8-9, 4-9 NSIC) cut into the lead with a big run midway through the period. A Morgan Lee jump shot with 3 minutes, 22 seconds remaining in regulation capped a 21-5 run for BSU and tied the game at 54-54.
BEMIDJI -- Bemidji wrestlers coaches and fans cheered as Wyatt Yoemanns attempted to pin Doug Peterson in the heavyweight match. The time expired just before Yoemanns could pin his opponent, resulting in a win by decision that forced a 30-30 tie between Bemidji and Badger-Greenbush-Middle River Thursday at the BHS Gym. Badger-Greenbush-Middle River ended up gaining an additional point due to a tiebreaker for most first points earned to leave with a 31-30 victory.
BEMIDJI -- The BSU women's basketball team enters a four-game road trip with a focus on maintaining a strong defense that helped earn a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference split last weekend with MSU Moorhead and Northern State. After allowing 93 points per game in a pair of losses heading into last weekend, the Beavers (8-8, 4-8 NSIC) held MSU Moorhead to 53 points in a win and kept Northern State under 70 points in a loss.

Despite the success, head coach Mike Boschee still looks to see steady improvement from his team during their swing through North Dakota to take on University of Mary and Minot State. The Beavers (12-4, 9-3 NSIC) travel to Bismarck, N.D., for an 8 p.m. game against U-Mary Friday before heading to Minot, N.D., to take on Minot State at 6 p.m. Saturday.
