Bemidji School Board: Spring break up for discussion

The Northome VFW, Blackduck Firemen's Relief Fund and the Blackduck Lions have made contributions that enabled the school to purchase a hearing screening device that enables preschoolers to be more accurately screened for hearing loss. This equipment will be shared with the Kelliher and Northome schools. The purchase of this device means that the schools will no longer have to rent it, saving money for the schools. It is not unusual to see everyone enjoying a delicious meal before local sporting events, thanks to the local booster clubs. They are available to the public from 4:30 p.m. until just prior to the games on the evenings of most home games for a reasonable price. Some boys basketball boosters provide a quick meal to team members before they dress for the game.

Sandy and Richard Lien, who advise the junior class, help raise funds and put on a wonderful prom each year are responsible for concessions at all local sporting events. Junior class members work hard in the concession stand to help raise the money to make the big spring event possible. These juniors are working concessions.
