Minnesota elk

December 12, 2013
Brad Penas of Moorhead drew one of two elk tags for the Caribou herd in Kittson County of northwest Minnesota and shot this 6x7 elk Sept. 14, the first day of the season. The rack now has been officially scored and measured 393 3/8 inches after the mandatory 60-day drying period. The score makes the elk the highest-scoring bull ever to be shot in Minnesota.
