Horace May Elementary collaborated with Girl Scout Troop No. 40 in organizing “Hat Day for Hurricanes” on Sept. 22 at the school. They collected more than 25 pounds of toiletries and $425 to distribute to communities in Florida and Texas. Submitted photo.

Workers finish patching a cracked water main at Horace May Elementary on Tuesday, where students and staff had to use portable toilets and bottled water for the day after staff shut off the water and reported the crack.
