Eric Nordlum, a parks and recreation department employee for the city of Bemidji, strings lights in a tree on Monday near Paul Bunyan Park. Parks and recreation staff were on their third day of hanging lights on Monday and expect to be working on them until Thanksgiving. All of the lights will be officially lit during the annual Night We Light celebration on Nov. 25 following the annual Night We Light parade.

First Presbyterian Church, of Bemidji, celebrates its 120th anniversary. The church’s anniversary celebration is scheduled next Sunday, Oct. 30, at the church, 501 Minnesota Ave., Bemidji.
