Aircorps Aviation: On a mission to tell Loren's tale

1st Lt. Loren E. Hintz of Charles City, Iowa, was shot down in 1945 while on a bombing mission over Italy. His son, Hans Wronka of Duluth, has spent more than a decade researching his grandfather and his crash. On July 23, Wronka and a team of volunteers, will excavate a site near Bagnarola, Italy, where they believe Loren’s plane went down.
