DULUTH -- Five Bemidji State track and field athletes set personal records Saturday as the team took part in the Lake Superior Challenge in Duluth. Among the five to set career marks, 13 total Beavers placed among the top five of their respective events at the event hosted by College of St. Scholastica.
BSU ended the day with two athletes taking first place, including junior Kelsey Hurley in the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 9 inches and sophomore Savanah Olson in the shot put with a throw of 41 feet, 7 inches. Junior Christa Benson took second in the 600m run with a time of 1:44.47 while junior Samara Tobeck took second in the weight throw with a personal-record toss of 48 feet, 8.75 inches.
The Beavers will next compete at the South Dakota State Classic in Brookings, S.D. from Friday, Feb. 9-Saturday, Feb. 10.
