Bemidji falls 82-60 at Thief River Falls

THIEF RIVER FALLS – The Bemidji boys basketball team spotted Thief River Falls a 15-2 lead six minutes into Monday’s game and the home team held an edge the rest of the way, eventually defeating the Lumberjacks 82-60.

The Prowlers (18-7) took a 5-0 lead two minutes into play but Bemidji’s Connor McNallan scored from the paint to trim the deficit to 5-2. Thief River Falls, however, countered with a 10-0 spurt to take charge at 15-2.

The Jacks sliced their deficit to 21-15 as Jeremiah Huseby contributed three points and Nathan Snell, Joe Strong, Josh Misco, McNallan and Richard Seado all had two during a 13-6 run.

But BHS couldn’t maintain that pace and TRF regained control with an 11-2 flurry.

By intermission the home team owned a 39-28 advantage and early in the second half the Prowlers extended their cushion to 47-30.

Monday’s loss dropped Bemidji to 2-21. The Lumberjacks will enjoy the home court advantage for their final two regular season games as they host Detroit Lakes 7:30 p.m. Friday and Duluth Denfeld 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Earlier this winter BHS stopped Detroit Lakes 71-60 for its first win of the season.
