GIRLS HOCKEY: BHS rallies, but loses to I-Falls
INTERNATIONAL FALLS -- The Bemidji High School girls hockey team fell to International Falls, 5-2, on Tuesday on the road.
The Lumberjacks (1-16) fell behind 2-0 early in the first period, as International Falls (10-6-1) got goals from Amber Tilander and Lexi Erickson.
However, the Lumberjacks rallied to tie it back up with two goals of their own in the second. Gracie Fisher and Paige De La Hunt both netted goals, with assists from Rachael Holm, to make it 2-2 after the first frame.
BHS, though, couldn’t keep the Broncos at bay.
Lexi Edwards scored what turned out to be the game-winner midway through the period, then Tilander scored again less than a minute later to make it 4-2.
In the third period, Tilander scored a shorthanded unassisted goal for the hat trick and the game’s final goal.
The Broncos outshot the Lumberjacks 40-26 in the game.
The Lumberjacks will return to the ice Friday, Jan. 13, when they will host River Lakes at the Bemidji Community Arena.International Falls 5, Bemidji 2
