Thunderhawks top Jacks wrestling

Grand Rapids slipped past the Bemidji wrestling team 33-28 on Thursday.

Sophomore Will Rusch helped the Thunderhawks pull away with a close 1-0 decision over Bemidji freshman Cody Carter at 220 pounds.

The Lumberjacks picked up early wins in the lower weight classes, but Grand Rapids finished strong, winning five of the last six weight classes.

Senior Tyler Jobe came up big for Grand Rapids with a 16-0 major decision over sophomore Ryle Masterson at 138 pounds.

At 145 pounds, Craig Maas gave the Lumberjacks their most impressive win with a 14-2 major decision over Frank Delung.
