Jacks wrestling team wraps up regular season at Moorhead

The Bemidji wrestling team will close its regular season today as the Lumberjacks tangle with St. Cloud Tech at 5 p.m. and Rocori at 6:30 p.m. at Moorhead.

Originally the Lumberjacks were also scheduled to face the Spuds but the coaches decided to cancel that meet because the teams already squared off Jan. 29 at Fergus Falls.

When the season started BHS coach Rance Bahr was hoping that the Jacks could double last year's victory total of six. That goal was accomplished a week ago at Apollo and if Bemidji could sweep today it would end the winter 18-9.

On paper BHS could return with two more victories as Tech was 7-15 prior to its Thursday match against Little Falls and Rocori took a 3-21 record to Brainerd on Thursday.

The flu bug has hit the Lumberjacks, however, and Bahr won't know who is available until later today.

His projected lineup includes Tyler O'Bierne (103), Michael Fogarty (112), Logan Crosby (119), Jake Crosby (125), Ryle Masterson (130), Craig Maas (135), Colton Doty (140), Kade Johnson (145), Kodi Craft (152), Dustin Greenman (160), Tyler Molitor (171), Brenden Fredriksen (189), Nick Maggert (215) and Alex Johnson (heavyweight).
