Bemidji HS boys tennis: Spuds sneak by Jacks tennis team
The Bemidji boys tennis team ended its regular season Friday with a 4-3 loss at Moorhead and will enter the post-season with a 4-9 record.
The sub-section tournament begins Tuesday at Brainerd and the coaches will determine the seedings today.
Friday BHS won at fourth singles and at first and second doubles.
Alec Hess outlasted Mguyn LeTlan 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 at fourth singles.
Ben Holter and Joey Wood collected a 6-1, 6-3 victory at first doubles and Adam Holter teamed with Justin Byers for a 6-1, 6-2 win at second.

The Lumberjacks baseball team tangled with Grand Forks Red River Friday night in the first round of the Des Sagedahl Wooden Bat Tournament.

Earlier Friday Duluth East defeated Fargo North 5-2.

The softball team will end its regular season today with a doubleheader at Grand Forks Central.
Bemidji is coming off Thursday's 8-2 victory at Grand Rapids and hopes to continue gathering momentum for the section tournament which begins Wednesday.
The Lumberjacks are expected to receive a top-four seed and if they do they will host a playoff game at 6 p.m.
The seedings are determined by points accumulated during the season and points are determined by wins and losses and strength of schedule.
The girls golf team was second of three teams at Friday's Detroit Lakes Invitational held at Longbow.
Detroit Lakes won with a 353 and the Jacks shot 365. Moorhead finished a distant third with 395.
Trissa Hutchins of Detroit Lakes was meet medalist as she carded an 84 over the par-72 layout.
Bemidji's best round was Shelby Sauer's 86. Emily Frosaker finished at 88, Meg Phelps 91, Katelyn Craft 100, Amy Frosaker 101 and Aimee Sandquist 103.
