Weather hits Bemidji athletic schedules

Today's weather forecast calls for a break in the dreary, wet conditions that have enveloped northern Minnesota for much of May.

And the Bemidji High School teams hope the forecast is accurate.

Thursday's rain cost the BHS baseball team another doubleheader as the weather washed away a scheduled twinbill at Grand Forks Central. In order to be at their best for the post-season the Lumberjacks need some games and today they are scheduled to host Alexandria in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at Bemidji State University.

Today's contests were originally scheduled for April 30.

The boys tennis team also has been slowed by the weather and Tuesday the Jacks saw their home triangular with Detroit Lakes and East Grand Forks fall victim to the elements.

BHS hopes for better conditions today as it will head to Fergus Falls for action against the host team at 3 p.m. and Moorhead at 4:30 p.m.

The girls golfers return to duty today at Long Prairie and Saturday they will play at The Vintage in Staples. Long Prairie also is the site of the section meet on June 3-4.
