The Bemidji Lumberjacks swim team remained unbeaten in dual meets this year, shading Detroit Lakes 95-91 in the Aquatics Center.

The win was the fourth in as many starts for Bemidji which hosts Moorhead Thursday in another tough battle at 6.

"Going into the meet, the outcome seemed close enough to decide on a coin flip," said coach Woody Leindecker.

"We had a good lineup with the right matchups. The swimmers and divers did what they needed to do to win."

Bemidji put Paul Voss, Matt Wilcox, Adam Falk and Dylan Hoven together to claim the opening medley relay to take an 8-6 lead.

Wilcox, Voss and Nick Nyberg then went 1-3-4 in the 200 free for another six point margin.

DL got two back in the IM on a 1-3 finish which Bemidji matched in the 50 free won by Hoven with Nick Gubbels third..

Dylan Tillemans broke DL'; s expected domination of diving with a second place finish as Bemidji surrendered only six points but lost its lead.

It got it back on Voss' victory in the fly with Falk taking second.

Hoven became a double winner in the 100 free with Gubbels third to add two more points to the Jacks total.

Quillan Oak of DL took the 500 but Nyberg, Paul Voss and Eli Wright were 2-4-5 to lose only two points.

Hoven, Falk, Gubbels and Nyberg then combined to claim the 200 free relay with DL second and third to gain two more points on the lead..

Wilcox won the backstroke but DL went 2-3-4 to gain two points as the meet neared its final two events.

A second by Seth Olson and fourth by Matt Arndt in the breaststroke kept Bemidji two points ahead.
