Weather keeps high school baseball games on hold

Bemidji High spring sports teams continued to work out indoors today after last week's blizzard continued to keep them from getting outside.

Both the baseball and softball diamonds are still buried under snow from last Tuesday's deluge and with temperatures remaining in the low 30's are likely to be unusable for another week.

Gone today are the baseball opener with Grand Rapids and the softball opener with Eveleth-Gilbert, both at home.

It was the second wipeout for the baseball team and third for the softballers.

The baseball game will be replayed April 28 at 4:30.

The softball game will be replayed May 7, also at 4:30.

Two other postponements have been reset,

The baseball game with Brainerd will be replayed here April 18 at noon at the Arena diamond with BSU hosting Duluth that day,

The JV game will be at Sagedahl. The freshmen will play at Brainerd that day.

The girls game at Little Falls, postponed April 4, will be replayed April 20. Yet to be rescheduled is the opener with West Fargo.

Today's girls freshmen softball double header with Bagley will be replayed April 23.

The baseball team is listed to host Sauk Rapids at 1 and Sartell on Saturday at the Arena with Moorhead meeting the same two teams at Sagedahl in reverse order.

However, barring a dramatic thaw, those games are questionable.

The softball team is listed to host Fergus Falls Saturday at 1.

Also cancelled today is the tennis opener with Crookston. No new date has been announced.

The Jacks host Grand Rapids Thursday at 2 and Park Rapids at 5 with those two teams meeting a 3:30 in the triangular. With temperatures predicted in the low 30's, that meet is tentative.

The track team's triangular at Fergus Falls today has been scratched.

Fergus had inquired on moving the meet to Bemidji. But the Jacks track is still snow covered.

Fergus rescheduled the meet for Thursday but Bemidji will not attend.

Both teams however, will run at the postponed Little Amik-II meet at BSU, a meet wiped out last Tuesday by the blizzard.
