Prep sports: Bemidji wrestling, ski meet, boys hockey postponed because of blowing snow

BEMIDJI -- Today’s wrestling triangular at Fosston, the Nordic ski meet at Camp Ripley and the boys home hockey game against East Grand Forks have been postponed because of the blowing snow.

The Bemidji wrestlers were scheduled to face Blackduck-Cass Lake-Bena and Fosston-Bagley in Fosston tonight but the meet has been postponed. The skiers also were scheduled to participate in the Elk River Invitational at Camp Ripley but that meet has been cancelled. Early Thursday afternoon the boys hockey game was added to the list of casualties.

As of early Thursday afternoon, the girls home basketball game against Brainerd was still on. The varsity game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

The status of the game, however, could change later today depending upon the weather conditions.

Friday's boys basketball schedule has not been impacted by the wintry conditions, at least not yet. The Lumberjacks are hosting Cristo Rev Jesuit of Minneapolis, Fond du Lac and Red Lake in a tournament.

Friday's 6:15 p.m. opener sees Fond du Lac facing Red Lake and Bemidji will take on Cristo Rey at 8 p.m. On Saturday Cristo Rey will meet Fond du Lac at 12:15 and the Lumberjacks will battle Red Lake at 2 p.m.
