CROSS COUNTRY: Truedson 6th, Carlson 11th at Griak
FALCON HEIGHTS — Bemidji’s Jenna Truedson and Sam Carlson led the Lumberjacks at the annual Roy Griak Invitational held here Saturday.
In the girls division, sophomore Truedson placed sixth with a time of 18:36. The overall winner was Jordyn Colter from Cherry Creek, Colo., with a time of 17:47.2.
The team placed 12th out of 50 girls teams.
“It was pretty rainy early in the day, but the weather turned around for us,” BHS head coach Ryan Aylesworth said. “The girls ran well. They placed in the upper-half of the race.”
On the boys side, Carlson placed 11th with a time of 16:11. Obsa Ali of Richfield was the overall winner with a time of 15:30.08.
The Lumberjack boys placed 27th as a team.
“It was a good effort for everyone,” Aylesworth said. “It can often be hard to run against that many people but they ran well. We’re happy with the effort.”
