Jacks defeat Pirates

The Bemidji girls soccer team got even Monday, scoring a 4-1 victory at Crookston in a Lakes to Prairie Conference battle.

The win lifted Bemidji to 8-7-1 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Crookston fell to 6-8-0 and 6-3 in the league,

The Pirates had won the first meeting here 2-0.

Bemidji still has a shot at second place but needs a win Thursday over Detroit Lakes her Thursday a team it beat 3-2 in overtime at DL.

Bemidji High head coach Kelly Schoonover was enthused after the win. "The girls playued very well and consistenly strong the entire game," she said.

"They were ready to play from the start and kept the intensity level; high the whole game."

Bemidji led 2-0 at the half and followed the lone Crookston goal with two more to end the scoring

Bronwyn Boyd hit twice and Caitlin Blotske and Erin Booth once. Nicole Ramos made 15 stops for Bemidji.. Christa Remick had 15 for the Pirates

The JV reached 3-9-2 with a 1-0 won, its second 1-0 win of the year. It had lost at home 4-0.

Paris Kingbird had the goal from a Mari Stocker feed.

Whitney Morin made seven stops. Sydney Luckow had seven for Crookston.
