HOCKEY: Former Beaver Lundquist signs with Whitecaps
BEMIDJI -- Former Bemidji State women’s hockey standout Sadie Lundquist signed a contract to play for the Minnesota Whitecaps of the National Women’s Hockey League starting in the 2018-19 season, the league announced Wednesday.
The forward out of Cloquet, who played four seasons with the Beavers from 2009-13, ranks 10th on BSU’s all-time scoring list with 83 career points (26g, 57 a).
After securing a sports management degree and working with the Minnesota Wild, Lundquist represented the Whitecaps, the NWHL’s newest team, in the 2018 all-star game.
The Whitecaps have also recently signed Amy Menke out of the University North Dakota, Lauren Barnes out of Minnesota State, Emma Stauber out of Minnesota Duluth and Julie Friend out of St. Cloud State.
Minnesota is set to begin the 2018-19 season against the Metropolitan Riveters (out of New Jersey) on Oct. 6-7 at TRIA Rink in St. Paul.
