GIRLS HOCKEY: Spuds topple Jacks 4-1
MOORHEAD -- The Bemidji High School girls hockey team succumbed 4-1 to Moorhead Saturday afternoon in the Lumberjacks’ penultimate game of the regular season.
The Jacks (4-20) held the Spuds (9-12-1) at bay for the first period of play, but two quick goals from Kylie Harrom and Makayla Keller to start the middle frame put Moorhead up 2-0.
Claire Howell extended the lead to 3-0 in the third period. A power-play goal by Jacie Lalli put the Lumberjacks on the board 6 minutes, 45 seconds into the third period.
However, an empty-net goal by Keller in the final minute iced the game at 4-1.
Bemidji will return home to Bemidji Community Arena for its final regular season game against Park Rapids at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2.
