GIRLS HOCKEY: Warriors scoring spree downs Jacks
WARROAD -- Warroad got the better of Bemidji in the first game of the high school hockey doubleheader between the Lumberjacks and Warriors on Tuesday at The Gardens.
BHS senior forward Hannah Eller tied the game at 1-1 with a top-shelf unassisted snipe at the 6:43 mark of the first period, but the Warriors took off from there with nine unanswered goals to take a 10-1 victory.
Peppering Bemidji goalie Brooklyn Delap with 55 shots, Warroad (3-1-2) scored four goals in the first period, three in the second and three in the third. The Warriors were led by Hannah Corneliusen, who had two goals and two assists. Katie Kotlowski added two goals, as well.
The Jacks (0-6) managed 15 shots on the Warroad net, but Eller was the only one to beat Warriors goalie Janelle Manitowabi.
Bemidji is back in action Tuesday, Dec. 5, for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Thief River Falls at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
