FOOTBALL: Aanerud named to Fred Mitchell Kick-Off Watch List
BEMIDJI -- Senior kicker Isaac Aanerud represents the Bemidji State football team as one of 34 members of the 2018 Fred Mitchell Kick-Off Watch List, recognizing placekickers for their excellence on the football field and for continued community service during their offseason. Aanerud enters his senior season as the Beavers’ all-time field goals leader.
Aanerud, a native of Otsego, was a 2017 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Second Team Special Teams and Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Third Team selection. In addition to his all-time record of 30 field goals at BSU, Aanerud also owns the single-season record with 15 field goals. He ranked third in field goal percentage among NSIC kickers and fifth in field goals in 2017. In addition to his place-kicking duties, Aanerud has averaged 58.8 yards per kickoff with 49 touchbacks during his career.
Aanerud is one of 11 Division II and one of three NSIC kickers named to the list. The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December.
