MOORHEAD -- The Bemidji High School boys and girls cross country teams were in action Friday evening at the Dragon Twilight hosted by Minnesota State Moorhead. The Lumberjack boys finished third with 70 points, and the girls took fourth with 69.
Riley Berg posted the fastest time for the boys with his eighth-place mark of 16:35. Perham’s Brandon O’Hara captured the individual title by clocking a time of 16:02.2 to lead the Yellowjackets to the team title with 33 points.
Regan DeWitt paced the BHS girls with her team-best time of 20:26.9 to finish fourth individually. Perham’s Caitlin Covington claimed first place with a time of 19:43.5 as the Yellowjackets added the girls title to their haul, edging Moorhead by two points, 44-46.
The Bemidji State cross country team competed in the college division Friday night.
The Beaver women placed seventh with 156 points, as U-Mary dominated by nabbing first win 17.
Ryne Prigge posted a time of 19:52.3 to lead BSU individually with her 23rd place finish. U-Mary’s Jaiden Schuette took the top prize with her time of 17:47.3
The Lumberjacks will travel to Little Falls for their next meet Thursday, Sept. 13, while the Beavers will next compete at the Roy Griak Invitational Sept. 29 in Falcon Heights.
