COLLEGE SPORTS: NSIC names Lind as new commissioner
BURNSVILLE — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference board of directors on Wednesday announced the hiring of Erin Lind as the league’s new commissioner.
Lind will begin her duties on July 1 and will become the league’s fifth commisioner, replacing retiring commissioner Butch Raymond.
Lind joined the NSIC staff in the summer of 2001 and has served as the associate commissioner and senior woman administrator since 2005.
“I am honored and humbled to be selected as the next commissioner,” Lind said in a news release. “I also would like to thank the NSIC board of directors for their belief in my vision and passion. My eagerness to build on a solid foundation and take the league to a level of excellence cannot be understated.”
Lind is a 2001 graduate of Southwest Minnesota State where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sports management. She earned her masters of sports management degree from the University of Minnesota in 2003.
Lind played basketball at Southwest from 1998-2001. She was a first team All-NSIC pick as a junior and an honorable mention selection as a senior. She’s seventh on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,380 points.
