Public invited to join Beaver men's hockey team for selection Sunday

With its third consecutive College Hockey America regular-season championship, a 23-9-4 overall record and 21 consecutive weeks among the nation's top teams in the review mirror, all signs point toward the Bemidji State men's hockey team garnering an at-large bid for this year's NCAA Tournament.

Regional tournament destinations and pairings will be aired live during the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Selection Show on ESPN2 Sunday.

Beaver Pride, the BSU Department of Athletics and its men's hockey program invite the public to join them to learn the Beavers' first round fate together and to celebrate the NCAA Tournament berth over brunch at the Hungry Bear Banquet and Conference Center in Bemidji.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the selection show will begin at 10:30 a.m. Cost for the brunch, a desert and a drink is $15. A cash bar will also be available.

For those unable to attend, the 30-minute selection show will be televised on ESPN2 at 10:30 a.m.

Bemidji State is on the cusp of its fourth appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament and its 30th year of post-season play. The Beavers, who are in line to gain their first at-large bid in program history, will travel to one of four regional host locations which include: St. Paul; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Albany, N.Y.; or Worcester, Mass.

Regional play runs March 26-28 with the four regional winners advancing to the Frozen Four at Ford Field in Detroit April 8-10.
