SOFTBALL: BSU goes 1-2 on second day of games

ST. PAUL — A day after going a perfect 3-0 to open the season, the BSU softball team dropped two of three games making its record 4-2 six games into the 2014 campaign.

BSU defeated Carleton College, 8-7, in nine innings and was defeated by Valley City State, 5-2, and by Wisconsin-Superior, 2-1.

The Beavers won their only game against Carleton with a dramatic come-from-behind victory. Jess Yost his a double to score Nicole Dupay to tie the game 7-7 in the seventh before Angie Roberts scored on a wild pitch in the ninth to secure the victory.

The Beavers will return to action March 10-14 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. BSU will play nine games on the spring trip.
