BSU TRACK: Horob ties BSU pole vault record

RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The Bemidji State University track team claimed second place at the Falcon Winter Classic in River Falls Saturday. Kaneeshia Johnson and Hailey Horob led the team in the field events while Nicole Crummy placed first in the 800-meters.

Horob posted a season-best height in the pole vault for the second consecutive meet, this time matching a school record. The sophomore cleared 10 feet, 10 inches to claim second place in the meet and tied Angela Miller’s school-record height of 10-10. Miller set the BSU standard in 2008.

Just behind Horob in the pole vault was Austin Eng. The sophomore vaulted 9-10.00 to claim third.

Johnson finished among the top two in two jumping events. She recorded a personal-best 33-11.25 in the triple jump to place first and was second in the long jump with a mark of 15-03.25.

Crummy turned in a first-place performance in the 800-meter run. Her time of 2 :32.35 stands as the sophomore’s season-best time.

Chloe Miller continued her quick start clocking a time of 9.17 in the 55-meter dash to take third place.

The Beavers’ 4x200-meter relay team finished second in a season-best time of 1:54.52.

BSU travels to Moorhead on Friday for the Cobber Multi and on Saturday for an invitational.
