Bjerknes to plead guilty to state and federal charges

WOMEN’S HOCKEY: Mowat, Bilic lift Beavers in thriller

DULUTH -- Ivana Bilic provided the heroics with a goal with just just 15 seconds remaining in a 1-0 win over Minnesota Duluth Saturday at AMSOIL Arena.

The goal ended the Bulldogs streak of 215 minutes without surrendering a goal.

Despite being outshot 38-16 in the game, BSU was able to come away with the win and earn a series split with UMD, who entered the weekend receiving votes to be nationally ranked.

The win snapped a five-game losing streak against the Bulldogs.

BSU goaltender, Brittni Mowat made 38 saves and earned compliments from the opposing coach.

“We just couldn't solve the problem of beating this goaltender,”  Minnesota Duluth head coach Shannon Miller said. “She was absolutely amazing.”

Bulldogs goaltender Kayla Black made 15 shots before surrendering the game-winner.

Bemidji State (7-7-2, 4-5-1) will host the Russian National Team for an exhibition contest Wednesday before meeting with Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc. on December 6.
