BOYS BASKETBALL: Jacks crush winless Prowlers
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- A pair of Linaes Whiting threes in the first two minutes gave the Bemidji High School boys basketball team an early lead and they never looked back, topping Thief River Falls 73-24 at Lincoln High School.
The early start sparked a 24-point BHS run, and the Jacks coasted into the intermission with a 37-13 lead.
Bemidji nearly matched their first-half offensive output in the final 18 minutes. Whiting and Colten Jensen each had seven points in the second half, leading the team to 36 points and the 73-24 win.
Overall, Whiting led the Lumberjacks with 20 points, while Jensen added 14 along with five rebounds. Kade Peterson put up 10 points, and Jace Peterson chipped in six assists.
The Prowlers’ loss drops them to 0-16 on the year, while BHS improves to 11-4.
The Jacks will look to extend their four-game winning streak past Saturday, Jan. 27, when they host Alexandria at 7:30 p.m. at Bemidji High School.
