BOYS BASKETBALL: Whiting leads BHS to win over Cards

STAPLES -- Linaes Whiting sunk six three-pointers on the way to a team-high 21 points to lead the Bemidji High School boys basketball team to a 92-73 road win over Staples-Motley on Tuesday.

The Lumberjacks (10-4) used 10 points from Spencer Konecne, nine from Whiting and seven from Kade Peterson to secure a 41-33 lead at the half, and BHS extended the lead with 51 more points in the second half.

Konecne finished the game with 18 points and six rebounds, while Kade Peterson had 14 points and Jace Peterson chipped in nine assists and four steals.

Ryan Bieberdorf rounded out the double-digit achievers with 12 points and added six rebounds.

Griffin Webster and Brayden Losh had 18 and 17 points, respectively, for the Cardinals (3-10).

The Jacks are back on the court for a 7:30 p.m. game Thursday, Jan. 25, at Thief River Falls.
