BOYS BASKETBALL: Bemidji runs past Pequot Lakes in 70-56 win
PEQUOT LAKES -- Behind a game-high 19 points from Ryan Bieberdorf, the Bemidji High School boys basketball team ran away with a 70-56 win at Pequot Lakes on Thursday.
Bieberdorf netted eight points before the break, which allowed the Lumberjacks (9-4) to a 35-29 edge entering halftime. And in the second half, Bieberdorf tallied 11 more as BHS outscored the Patriots (9-4) 35-27 in the final 18 minutes.
Additionally, Bieberdorf finished with five assists and five steals to lead Bemidji to the win. Alongside him, meanwhile, Spencer Konecne racked up 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocks by game’s end. Jace and Kade Peterson added 10 points apiece, with the former dropping six dimes, as well.
The Jacks’ defense only allowed two Patriots to sneak into double figures, as Chase Larson finished with 11 points and Austin Young 10.
Bemidji will return to action at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, against Staples-Motley in Staples, looking to pick up its eighth win in the last nine games.
