Sanford Center to host HS hoops games

BEMIDJI -- High school basketball will return to the Sanford Center for the Third Annual Homark Homes Hardwood Showcase on Dec. 1-2.

Nine boys and girls games will be played during the two-day event, which features the Red Lake boys and girls teams and the Cass Lake-Bena, Laporte and Bagley girls teams.

The first game will be played at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1. The event will continue with games beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.

Tickets for the event are $8 for adults and $6 for kids and students. Kids under four are free.

Four-time WNBA champion Lindsay Whalen of the Minnesota Lynx will be on hand to sign autographs from 5:45-7:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1. In addition, during halftimes, the Bemidji High School Dance Team will perform at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, and Just For Kix will perform Saturday at 10 a.m. and noon.
