BASEBALL: Bemidji State season-finale doubleheader rained out, moved to Sunday

BEMIDJI — Weather delays are nothing new for the Bemidji State baseball team. The Beavers played 36 straight games before playing their home opener last week.

With just two games left in the regular season, the Beavers will now have to wait another day to determine their playoff fates.

Saturday’s rain showers pushed back BSU’s season-ending Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader against league leaders and nationally-ranked St. Cloud State.

The games will be played Sunday at noon.

The Beavers split with the Huskies Friday to bring their record to 22-18 overall and 13-11 in the NSIC.

The Beavers currently sit in eighth place in the NSIC standings. Sioux Falls is in ninth at 13-13 after splitting with Winona State.

Concordia-St. Paul is in fifth place (11-7), Wayne State sixth (18-12) and Minnesota Duluth (14-10) seventh.

The top eight teams in the conference standings make the conference tournament, scheduled for next week in St. Cloud.
