GIRLS HOCKEY: Roseau rolls Jacks
ROSEAU -- The Bemidji High School girls hockey team could not get much going offensively Tuesday night, falling 7-0 in its first road game of the season at Roseau.
After keeping the Rams (3-1) off the board for the first seven minutes, the Lumberjacks (0-5) surrendered the first goal of the game to Lindsey Kallis at 7:23 of the first period. The goal was the first of four that Roseau would score in the span of 4 minutes, 50 seconds.
Jenna Byfuglien tallied a goal less than two minutes later before Kayla Santl recorded a goal at 10:35 of the frame. Byfuglien notched her second goal just three seconds into a power play at the 12:13 mark to bring the score to 4-0.
Lauren Johnson was responsible for both of the Rams’ second-period goals. The first came at the 2:53 mark and the second at 6:59 of the period as Roseau took a 6-0 lead to the intermission.
Santl capped the game with her second goal of the night in the final minutes of the game.
Bemidji struggled offensively as the Rams outshot the visitors 47-7.
The Lumberjacks will have a week off before heading back north for a 4:30 p.m. road contest at Warroad on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
