Blackduck trap team advances to state

ALEXANDRIA -- The Blackduck High School trap shooting team is headed to state after the Drakes qualified Monday at the 2017 Trap Shooting Championship qualifying competition in Alexandria. The team placed fifth out of 77 teams with 457 points to advance to the clay target shooting state tournament Saturday, June 24, at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.

Toni Long took first High Gun in female varsity, shooting a 90 out of 100. Emily Notsch took third High Gun in novice, shooting an 82 out of 100.

Nolan Juelson shot a 98 out of 100, placing fourth in male varsity. Joe Long shot a 94 of a 100, placing fourth in male junior varsity.
