Bemidji tennis team starts season Monday

PINE CITY – The Bemidji girls tennis team will be the first fall program to begin its season as the Lumberjacks travel to Pine City Monday for an invitational.

Joining BHS and the host team are Staples-Motley, Litchfield, North Branch, Mounds Park Academy, Rochester Lourdes and Red Wing.

Staples-Motley and Lourdes both open the year ranked in the top 10 of the coaches Class A preseason poll.

“Our lineup is a work in progress,” Jacks coach Mark Fodness said, adding that balance is among his team’s strengths.

Monday’s projected singles lineup includes Jessica Solberg, Claudia Bellew, Alexis Konecne and Megan Serratore. 

Among the possible doubles teams are Amy Frosoaker with MacKenzie Schultz, Annika Johnson with Olivia Dickinson and Claire Baumgartner with Jenna Lee.

Nicolette Roy and Sarah McNallan could also see action.
