Bemidji loss to Apollo results in rematch on Wednesday

ST. CLOUD - The Bemidji High School baseball team lost 4-0 Tuesday afternoon to St. Cloud Apollo in the first of what will be two champion-ship games in the Section 8-3A tournament.

The Lumberjacks could have captured the section title with a victory but the loss forces a rematch which will be played 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dick Putz Sta-dium in St. Cloud.

The field also is the home park of St. Cloud Apollo.

Bemidji and the Eagles each had eight hits but the Lumberjacks stranded 11 runners.

Mitchell Hendricks went the distance on the BHS mound and took the loss. Ryan Hirt is expected to pitch Wednesday's game.
